What is collected

When you open a page, our hosting provider records a standard server access log entry. It contains your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the HTTP status, your browser's user agent string, and the referring page if your browser sends one.

Nothing else is collected. This site sets no cookies and uses no analytics, and there is no contact form, no account, no newsletter, and no tracking of any kind.

Why, and on what basis

Access logs exist so that the site can be operated securely and so that faults and abuse can be investigated. The basis is our legitimate interest in the secure operation of our own website (Art. 31 revDSG; Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR for visitors in the EU/EEA). We do not analyse these logs to build statistics or profiles, and we do not combine them with any other data. There is no automated decision-making and no profiling.

How long it is kept

We do not download, read, or analyse the access logs in the ordinary course of running this site. They stay with our hosting provider and are rotated under its own retention policy.

If we do retrieve a log extract in order to investigate a specific fault or a specific abuse incident, that extract is deleted as soon as the investigation is closed and in any case within 30 days, unless we are required to keep it longer to establish, exercise, or defend a legal claim.

OVH SAS, 2 rue Kellermann, 59100 Roubaix, France, which operates the data centre in Gravelines, France where this site is hosted.

Sub-processors outside the EU, and why

OVH runs technical support and infrastructure administration across its own group, so staff at OVH Hosting Inc. (Canada) and OVH Ltd (United Kingdom) may access the hosting infrastructure in the course of maintaining it and resolving incidents. That support role is the only reason data reaches those two countries. Both are recognised as providing adequate data protection by the European Commission and by the Swiss Federal Council, and the data processing agreement additionally incorporates the EU Standard Contractual Clauses with the amendments required for Switzerland.

Anyone else

Nobody. We do not sell, rent, or otherwise disclose this data, and we pass it to public authorities only where the law obliges us to.

Nothing on this page is loaded from another site, and the site is configured to refuse third-party content. Your browser contacts an external service only if you follow a link to it, and from that point the privacy notice of the site you have reached applies.

Your rights

You may request access to the personal data we hold about you, and ask for its correction or deletion. Depending on where you are, you may also have the right to object to processing, to request restriction, to data portability, and to withdraw a consent you have given.

To exercise any of these rights, use the Huawei personal data request portal at huawei.com/en/personal-data-request, or write to the data protection officer or the postal address above.

In practice we hold nothing that would let us identify you, so a request about a specific visit is unlikely to be answerable unless you can supply the IP address and the time.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Switzerland this is the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner, whose contact details are at edoeb.admin.ch; in the EU/EEA it is your national data protection authority.

Changes

We may update this notice when the site or the way it is operated changes. The current version is always the one published here, and the date at the top of the page changes with it.
