Page Size Aware Cache Prefetching

Abstract summary

Many spatial prefetchers stop at 4 KB boundaries even when the operating system uses larger pages. This work passes page-size information to lower-level prefetchers so they can safely extend their predictions. It also combines complementary page-aware prefetchers with adaptive selection. Evaluations study the benefit of this additional information across multiple prefetching designs and both single-core and multicore workloads.
