SOF: Sorted Opacity Fields for Fast Unbounded Surface Reconstruction

Abstract summary

Sorted Opacity Fields reconstructs meshes from Gaussian scene representations, with particular attention to unbounded environments. Hierarchical sorting and a revised depth formulation make the recovered surface more consistent with the opacity field. Shape regularization and a parallel meshing implementation improve geometric accuracy and reduce extraction time.
